Excellent vegan brunch. I felt like a valued customer, not an awkward pain in the arse. They checked that the sausages were suitable and I can't believe how perfect the avocado was on New Year's Day. Well done, Rowton Poplars!

It is what it says it is;a pub with rooms, however they provide exceptional service and the food menus for breakfast, lunch and evening meal excellent quality and great variety offered. Upstairs room 8 spotlessly clean, small but quirky. The stairs are steep and gave us a reminder of both our ages and arthritis! But they did offer us a change when I queried if downstairs rooms on offer. So if like us stairs are a bind ask for downstairs room when booking.
Stayed for two nights to visit family and the lights at nearby bolesworth. The bonus for us was being able to book a bubble barn for midday meal. This gave us a very cosy get together with nephew and his fiancée and our little great niece, the latter who could be quite restless and noisy at times. And we had never seen such a fancy way to turn up the toilet roll. 🤣
Rooms: Room 8 up two flights of stairs...but they do have downstairs rooms.
Very clean. Basic facilities but the bed matched those in a premier inn. No road noise for us and minimal noise from family next door. Had a great night's sleep.
Nearby activities: Short drive away from Bolesworth castle. Close to centre of Chester and nearby Cheshire oaks shopping park. It was quite central to these things and not far from Flint where family lived.
Food & drinks: Exceptional variety, beautifully presented and good value. Meal and drink prices seperate
Noteworthy details: The food. The bubble barns, they have wigwams too for larger groups. Dog friendly and the dogs have their own menu. The outside area fantastic and we are sure great in Summer. The staff so friendly and helpful.

We visited on a Sunday for carvery and weren’t disappointed. It was the nicest Sunday lunch I have had in years. The staff were all pleasant and friendly and the chef seemed genuinely keen to impress. It was wonderful and we will be back

Absolutely amazing hotel.
1) The room was nice, comfortable warm and well furnished. The bathroom was clean, sizable and functional
Great value for money.
2) Staff were very welcoming, friendly and informative. They went the extra mile with service.
3) The food was incredible! Can't understate enough how good it was. I had the Seafood linguine and it was sensation. Tasty with good potion size.
I had the white chocolate cheesecake for desert, it was one of the best deserts I've ever eaten.
If you need a hotel I'm Chester, I can't recommend this hotel enough.

This was a last minute decision to stay out for the night. Searched locally and decided this was the place which had 1 room left. Arrived at 7pm and the staff were really friendly, showed us to our room, Annexe 1. The room is nice and simple, meets your needs, lovely and warm and the shower room was immaculate. Couldn't be any cleaner if it had just been installed. Went down for an evening meal and the service was second to none. Went back to the room and settled for the evening. The road noise is quite bad, not helped by single glazed windows, there were complimentary ear plugs so they are doing their best given their location, but we got used to it. The only negative which is down to guests and lack of respect, is at 2am there was banging on the hotel door and shouting like someone wanted to wake the space station. Shame really as all in all we would happily visit again. As for the noisey guest, hopefully we don't get bad luck twice. Keep up the good work.
Rooms: Nice, simple, immaculate and toasty warm
Nearby activities: Chester is great and the Zoo is a stones throw away
Food & drinks: Really lovely evening meal. We had the Dirty Burger.
Noteworthy details: Warm room, fantastic service, our room a bit close to the road.

Food is out of this world. The BBQ king ribs are the best ribs I've ever eaten...and a massive shout out to the delightful young lady serving the tables. She runs around like a whippet with a constant smile on her face. Beautiful eyes, beautiful smile and genuinely made the whole experience. She has the most amazing vibration that makes dinning here a whole new experience. This place comes at the highest recommendation A*****

Very clean rooms the only minnor thing I found was that there is no desk or table to use in the room when using my laptopwork. But I would defently stay here again staff were super friendly food was very well cooked and as a whole good value for money. I found the breakfast a little expensive as tea and coffe and fruit juice was not included in the price. I would defently choose to stay here again.

What a fabulous hotel. Staff are top drawer and the food was delicious and very reasonably priced. Bedrooms are quite small, but very clean an tidy. Bar is well stocked and for any real ale drinkers. Spitting Feathers bitter hits the spot. Highly recommended.

Amazing last minute find!
Plenty of space in the car park, restaurant on site, lovely staff, and our room was perfect!
The beds were really comfy, the shower was great, and there was lots of space.
There was noise from the room above but that was other guests not the hotel and the beds shook when lorries went past but we found it quite entertaining 😁
Considering that I booked a few days before, the price was amazing and the view from our room was gorgeous.
Rooms: Really spacious, comfy beds, ensuite bathroom
Nearby activities: Chester Zoo, lots of shops/retail parks, not far to the Welsh border
Noteworthy details: They have cute cabins and a teepee/yurt in the back and a meadow!
